Preparing to leave for HdG

Just one week to go. I've been packing for weeks. What does an avid crafter take on a 6 month trip?
Everything she can jam in the suv! I had a practice run packing the car last week. It fit. I hope I can remember the tetris pattern.

Besides 2 suitcases and 8 boxes of craft stuff- we're bringing a caged Maine Coon, litter & pans and a rottweiler / corgi mix (loosely called a dog) with lot's of foods and treats. Our own food and treats and overnight bags for our hotels. I'm so freaked about picking up bed bugs from a hotel the we made a battle plan. Most important step being the suitcase never leaves the car! Finding the animal friendly hotels will be fun too. I do have some websites to assist me.

The drive will take 5 days. And it's our first adventure as snow birds (reverse as it is). I'm very excited! We caught the 4th of July for the first time in 20 years last year. My husband had never experienced a hometown holiday so fun, I think it had a bearing on our purchase of the bayside condo.

Two grandchildren will join us for a few weeks and share the 4th of July. And right when they get here, Havre de Grace is celebrating Pirate Fest. We've got over the top costumes for the whole fam damily!

My 40th high school reunion is in June, on First Friday downtown. I haven't been since the 10th. So much fun to have during this visit. And the very best part is since this is my hometown- lot's of friends and family to be with.

While we're gone from Tucson, Steve's daughter, Marina, is in charge of the house and our 2 cats and 5 chickens. All summer without the folks. Our grown kids can use the pool and have bbq parties. Just cal me first :)
